On November 10th the Jordan Karate Federation held
elections and its new Directing Committee is as follows:

The new DC decided to hold the 5th.Middle East Karate
championship in 2005 which was postponed from 2004 due to the
re-formation of all sports federation of the
country
OCTOBER
WKF CONGRESS ( Mexico,
Monterrey)
The congress in
Monterrey has been a great success. The delegations of the
country-members of the national federations decided for
several matters. The most important of this congress is the
re-election of WKF president Mr. Antonio Espinos and the
elections of 5 Εxecutive Committee members. Mr. Dinsdale,
Mr. Maanon, Mr. Mendez and Mr. Chang were re-elected and Mr.
Gaye elected for the first time to serve in WKF E.C. The
president the general secretary and the treasurer of WKF
presented their reports to the members of the congress which
have been approved. Also all the proposed changes of the WKF
statutes were approved. Tokyo and Paris were the candidate
cities for the organization of the World championships of
2008. After a thrilling challenge Tokyo prevailed in the
secret voting.

SEPTEMBER
Karate is the first sport in the recent “Around the rings”
Pole for Olympic games inclusion with 54%. More than half the
voters want karate to be the new sport for the Programme of
the Olympic games 2012
This result of this ATR
pole is a small confirmation to the popularity of karate
around the world. WKF continues its efforts for karate to
enter the Olympic Programme.

will be accepted during the registration period for any WKF
championships) NOTE: You will need your country
code to log-in. The codes will be given to all the
country-members during the congress in Mexico. If you like to
register for the upcoming world championships please contact
secretariat (secretariat@wkf.net)
office to get your code.
This new tool now available to all WKF
members, as it is the registration on line, constitutes a
magnificent facility that today very few International Sports
Federations have available, proving once again that WKF keeps
not only a privileged position in the international domain but
also that we continue progressing and showing everywhere what
WKF and karate represent worldwide.

especially thank the General Secretary and his team for this
tremendous achievement. A few years ago they worked out the
new accreditation system for WKF events. Today it is the
